01What is ORVIA Threshold?
An independent structured review before significant escalation or high-consequence action. It helps authorised decision-makers understand what the available evidence supports, what is disputed, what is missing and what consequences need considering.
02When should we use it?
When a concern is moving toward significant action and the evidence picture is fragmented, disputed, incomplete or under time pressure.
03Is it an investigation?
Not automatically. A Threshold review can structure and challenge available information before a decision. If a formal investigation is required, the organisation should use the appropriate authorised process.
04Is Threshold a safeguarding service?
Threshold can review safeguarding-related evidence and decision quality, but it does not replace statutory safeguarding authority or determine legal safeguarding thresholds.
05Does ORVIA decide whether an allegation is true?
No. Threshold structures the evidence, uncertainty, gaps and competing explanations. Consequential findings remain with appropriately authorised humans and bodies.
06Can Threshold make disciplinary decisions?
No. It can help an organisation understand the evidence picture before or around a disciplinary process, but the employer and its authorised advisers retain the decision.
07What if there is an immediate safety concern?
Immediate protection should not wait for certainty. Use the appropriate emergency, statutory, safeguarding, clinical or organisational route. A later review can still distinguish precaution from proof.
08Can you work alongside HR, legal or safeguarding teams?
Yes, where scope and authority are clear. Threshold is designed to support, not replace, authorised professional roles.
09Can you review a decision already made?
Potentially. The question becomes whether the evidence and reasoning that supported the decision can be reconstructed and whether further review is useful.
10How do we send sensitive material?
Do not send sensitive evidence through the public enquiry form. Once scope is agreed, ORVIA provides an appropriate controlled route.
11What happens when evidence is missing?
The gap is recorded and its significance is considered. Missing information is not silently filled with assumption.
12What do we receive at the end?
Depending on scope: evidence map, chronology, evidence/assertion separation, gaps, competing explanations, decision questions, risk/consequence view, actions and a structured Threshold review report.
13Is the report legally privileged?
Not merely because ORVIA created it. Legal privilege should be confirmed with appropriately qualified legal advisers.
14How long does a review take?
It depends on urgency, evidence volume, complexity, number of accounts, specialist input and output required.
15What does it cost?
Property Buyer report £19, Property Seller report £29, Travel Ready £69. All other work is scoped and the fee is agreed in writing before work starts.
